Biodiversity in transformed landscapes

CRSNG Subvention à la Découverte/NSERC Discovery Grant (2018-2023)

Researcher : Élise Filotas

Amount : 132 000 $

The objective of this research program is to determine how transformations of forest landscapes interact with ecological processes at different spatial, temporal and organization scales to influence their biodiversity and function. In particular, the proposed program will untangle the consequences on forests biodiversity arising from different landscape transformations: habitat loss, habitat fragmentation, and variation in forest cover composition. It will also assess how changes in biodiversity induced by forest management in turn affect the ecosystem services produced by forests.
